How a Pandemic, a Prayer, and a Blank Page Built This Business

I never planned to start a business. What I planned was to survive.

It was 2020. The world had gone quiet in the strangest, most unsettling way. I lost people I loved. I lost the rhythm of ordinary days. And in those long, hollow stretches of isolation, I found myself doing what I always do when the ground shifts beneath me — I turned to God.

I started writing. Not for anyone else. Just for me. Pages of prayer, memory, gratitude, and grief all tangled together. I wrote about my mother. I wrote about faith. I wrote about the things I wanted my children and grandchildren to know about who I was and where I came from — not just the facts, but the feeling of it.

Somewhere in that process, something shifted. The loneliness was still there, but it was softer. The fear was still there, but underneath it was something steady. I kept coming back to a verse that had anchored me since I was young:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11

Even in a pandemic. Even in loss. Even when everything felt broken — there was still a plan. That truth would not let me go.

When the dust began to settle, I looked back at what I had written and thought: what if someone else needed this too? What if the mothers and grandmothers in my community — women who carried whole families on their faith and their shoulders — had a place to put their stories down? Not a diary. Something more intentional. Something that could outlast them and speak to the people they loved.

That question became SWT Ventures. And the answer became the Mother's Love, Faith and Legacy Journal.

It is a journal, yes. But really it is a keepsake. A place where a mother can walk through her childhood, her faith, her family recipes, her hopes for her children and her grandchildren. Pages that hold scripture alongside handwriting. A life, documented with love.

I built this because the pandemic taught me that time is not guaranteed. The stories we carry in our heads, the wisdom we mean to pass on someday — they can slip away before we ever say them out loud. This journal is the someday, made today.

If you found your way here, I do not think that is an accident. Maybe you are grieving. Maybe you are searching. Maybe you just know, the way I knew, that there is something you are meant to leave behind.

Welcome to Swtmart. I am glad you are here.

With faith and gratitude,

Don Francis
